Houghton Announces Fall 2023 Academic Honorees

February 7, 2024

Houghton University is proud to recognize and congratulate the exceptional students who have achieved academic excellence during the Fall 2023 semester. These students have demonstrated outstanding dedication and commitment to their studies, earning prestigious honors on the Dean’s List, Dean’s Honor List, and President’s List.

To attain the Dean’s List, full-time students must obtain a grade-point average ranging from 3.50 to 3.74. The Dean’s Honor List recognizes those who achieve a grade point average between 3.75 and 3.99. The highest achievement, the President’s List, is reserved for full-time students who maintain a perfect 4.0 grade point average.

Wayne D. Lewis, Jr., President of Houghton University, commended the students for their remarkable achievements, stating,

Irrespective of field or time period, excellence never happens by accident. It is intentional. It takes discipline. It is painstaking. It is not for the easily discouraged or faint of heart. I congratulate you on your achievement of academic excellence in the Fall 2023 semester. Your pursuit of excellence was a choiceโ€”one that you made over and over again. I thank God for your gifts and discipline, and I pray that you will continue to use your gifts to glorify our Father.

David Davies, Provost and Dean of Faculty, celebrated the academic accomplishments of these exemplary students, “Through hard work and faithful perseverance, the 370 students who have earned the distinction of being included on the Dean’s List, Dean’s Honor List, and the President’s List are carrying forward Houghton’s 140-year tradition of excellence in scholarship. I thank God for each of these students and congratulate them on this remarkable achievement.”

Houghton University is immensely proud of all the students who have been recognized for their outstanding academic performance. Congratulations to all our Fall 2023 academic honorees. Your dedication, discipline and commitment to excellence for the glory of God serve as an inspiration to the entire community.
