President Lewis Inspires Students at TeenPact’s One Day State Class

May 16, 2024

Houghton University President, Wayne D. Lewis, Jr., recently captivated an audience of students and aspiring leaders at the TeenPact Leadership Schools’ One Day State Class on April 25, 2024.

Lewis shared with students the significance of servant leadership, the importance of renewing their minds in the Word of God, and the impact their decisions have on their lives. He also emphasized the importance of building relationships based on trust. Drawing from his extensive experience as the former Commissioner of Education for the Commonwealth of Kentucky and more than 20 years in the field of education, Lewis left a lasting impression on the students of TeenPact.

The One Day State Class, designed for students aged 8-12, offers an action-packed day filled with exciting experiences that introduce them to their state government through a dynamic, hands-on approach. The day begins with worship, setting the tone for students to view government from a Christ-centered perspective. The class aims to teach students how to glorify God through their actions within the political atmosphere.

President Lewis’ presence at the TeenPact One Day State Class was a testament to Houghton’s enduring commitment to nurturing future leaders and empowering them with the knowledge and values necessary to make a positive impact in their communities for Christ.
